Thanks day

This year our new little family spent Thanksgiving at my brother Tim and his wife Cindy's house. It was a great day of delicious food (by far the best meal of the year in my opinion) and visiting with family. Liam got to spend lots of time being held by his cousins Jillian and Lauren. They are so excited every time they see him and seem to really adore him. All I wanted was a family picture of the three of us, but our son decided to cry most of the day so some how it never worked out to get one.

Here is my mom Patricia making the yummy Turkey Gravy. Honestly I could eat this meal every Thursday. Those Indians really knew how to welcome the Pilgrims with good food. Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone it makes me sad to say good bye to Autumn. It is my favorite time of year, the weather, the foliage the sweaters that get to come out for the season. And it is time to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. This year it was an extra special season because it was the welcoming of Liam into this world. There is so much fun to be had during this season and now I will have to wait till next year to go through it again but until then bring on winter the second best season of all.

The strands

When I was a little girl one of my favorite thoughts was the fact that God knew how many strands of hair were on my head. Now as a mother I am brought back to that comforting thought. In fact it does not stop there, I could (and do) cry in awe about how our God will never learn anything about Liam. He already knows every detail of my son. This is so remarkable to me, that God not only knows how many little strands of hair are on his head but also that God knows what his first word will be and the date he will learn to walk. God knows this little boys future dreams, his fears, the first time he will tell a girl he loves them and the first time he will have his heart broken. The Lord knew the day he would enter this world before we even tried to have a child, and the Lord knows when he will take Liam home to him. What comfort to know that every detail of Liam's life is carefully watched and guided by our God. How truly awesome he is.

Liam

This Halloween instead of Trick or Treating, carving pumpkins, or putting on silly costumes, Sam and I headed off to the hospital and spent the day anxiously awaiting our own little Treat. Turns out that the 31st ended in a Trick and the Treat was to be had early the next morning...

Sam and I welcomed our first child Liam Xander Henry Daigle into the world on November 1, 2009. He was born at 1:39 in the morning. Really it was 2:39 but because of the time change they discredited a full hour of my pushing! Our son weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces, and was 18 3/4 inches long. It was a full 24 hours of labor and 4 hours of pushing. Sam and I met perfection that early November morning! We are so in love with Liam and are overwhelmed already with how fast his very short life has gone by. One week went by so quickly I ache to think about how quick it will be before our little baby boy has grown into a young man.

Here he is one day old! So completely precious and irresistible already. I think he is going to look just like his daddy :) We are completely delighted to be this little boy's parents. We can not wait for everyone to meet him.
